Stuff

Well as you can see big shot Daniel is in fact eating cereal and loving it. This picture was taken a couple days ago, now he has been eating his food for three weeks and let me just say he is a champ. He loves it! Cries when it is gone and makes very little mess. He is getting the hang of the spoon and swallowing without pushing it all out of his mouth. However, he is still not sleeping through the night!

To change subjects, Mr. Fox from church gave me some words of wisdom and I thought I would share it with others that may be going through some of the same stuff we are...we have been hit hard by this wonderful recession just like some many others in America.

I had a job offer back when Daniel was only six weeks old and I just could not get a peace about taking the job. We would not have gotten ahead by me leaving our three sons, we just would have added some money and a lot of stress, so I turned down the job. Needless to say I almost had an anxiety attack the next day thinking what had I done?!

But the Lord did give me peace, even though it didn't make sense to a lot of people, I know I did what was right for our family. Anyway, I was speaking with Mr. Fox and I said something about "doing without" and he said, "No you are not doing without."

And you know it hit me - no we are not doing without. I don't have some things that others may think, "How can you live without that?" or "I could never do that." But we made a choice, I personally made a choice, that my husband and children are more important to me than anything money can buy.

Also, what would my children be "doing without" if I had gone back to work? They wouldn't have even had a say in the matter! But I cannot imagine throwing their world off course by getting them up at 6 am every morning, snow, rain or shine to take them to a babysitter or daycare. They get to be at home with each other and their mom, like kids are supposed to.

God has given me a wonderful, hardworking husband who goes to work every day and tries to find extra jobs to make up the difference. Joe's willingness to provide for our family allows me to be a stay-at-home-mom to our sons. I am so blessed and thankful that he is willing to make the choice not to need the money for an expensive hobby or something he may want, but that he is happy that I am here with our sons too.

So, God has given me my hearts desire. I could have chosen to go to work, which for some is the right choice. Whatever we choose is more important to us means we are not "doing without" we are living with our choice. And even though this is not an easy choice, it is one that makes me happy. Knowing that my children are safe, loved and here with me for the short time that I will have them!
If anyone knows of a REAL LEGITIMATE way that I can make some $$ here at home I am more than willing to do that!!! :) So, please let me know.
